As the best known type of bodywork preferred today, one of the primary goals of the Swedish Massage technique is to relax the entire body. This is accomplished by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of the blood returning to the heart.

But Swedish Massage therapy goes beyond relaxation......

In a Swedish Massage the therapist lubricates the skin with massage oil or lotion and performs various massage strokes. These strokes warm up the muscle tissue, relaxing tension and gradually breaking up muscle 'knots'.
